He was the son of William Carr a builder’s general labourer, born 1853 in Redmile, Leics., and his wife Minnie, born 1866 in Glenfield, Leics. George William a shoe trade finisher was born in 1887 in Anstey, Leics., his siblings were, Emma E., born 1889, Ivy, born 1893 and John F., born 1896, all his siblings were born in Anstey, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at Bradgate Road, Anstey, Leics. In April 1911 George was employed as a domestic gardener and was residing in the family home at Hollow Road, Anstey, Leics., together with his father, now a farm labourer, his mother, now a dressmaker and his siblings, Ivy and John. In the January, February, March quarter of 1912, George married Edith Loasby in the Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire marriage registration district. George died from pneumonia.
