The following information was kindly submitted to the project by V Kendrick in 2016:

"Walter was the youngest child of Samuel Henry Grew and Eliza(beth) EAMES (married 1879). Born in 1898 (GRO ref. Ashby 7a 99 Jun 1898), he had 3 brothers and 4 sisters. In 1911, aged 12, he was living with his parents and 4 siblings at 83, Derby Road, Ashby. His mother Eliza died in 1938, aged 80, and his father in 1941, aged 83."
