He was the son of James Bevin a Farmer, born 1857 in Broughton Astley, Leics., and his wife Elizabeth, born 1855 in Cubbington, Warwks. Francis James was born in 1883 in Ashby Magna, Leics., his siblings were William C., born 1880 in Willoughby Waterlees, Leics, Edith M., born 1881 in Stoney Stanton, Leics., Samuel A., born 1886, Margaret, born 1889 and Hubert J., born 1891, the latter three siblings were all born in Ashby Magna, Leics., in April 1891 the family home was at Ashby Magna, Leics. husband of A. M. Bevin. In March 1901 Francis was employed as a Railway Labourer and was residing in the family home at Peatling Road, Ashby Magna, Leics., together with his parents and siblings, Edith, Samuel, Margaret, Hubert, Elsie C., born 1894 and Roland R., born 1898, the latter two siblings were both born in Ashby Magna, Leics. In April 1911 Francis was employed as a Domestic Groom and Gardener and was residing in the family home at 313, Avenue Road Extension, Leicester together with his wife of five years, Ann Mary, born 1878 in Horn Hills, Warwks., and their children, Francis Henry, born 1909 in Blaston, Leics., and Roland James, born 1911 in Leicester.
