The War Diary for today records. Bde marched 6.30am, BAGHDAD entered. Battn bivouacked near station. Bde found outpost line. Battn in reserve. At 6.00pm orders received to call in present picquet line and take up line as follows:- 2nd LEICESTERSHIRES 812 central (on railway line) north to river. A, C and D Coy’s took up this line with B Coy in reserve. Cold at night and some rain.
