He was the son of Henry White of Barrowden, Rutland, and the husband of Catherine E. D. McRoberts White. His widow now resides at Mayfield Lodge, East Trinity Road, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. He was employed as a valet before enlistment, embarking for France in July 1916. He fought on the Somme, at Bapaume and Ypres and other places before being killed by a shell.
