Christopher was born in 1886 in Barton, Oxon, his siblings were, James H., born 1865 in Long Compton, Warwks., Joseph A., born 1875 in Barford, Oxon, Emily Eliza, born 1880 in Barton, Oxon, Mary J., born 1882 in Minster Lovell, Oxon, and Francis T., born 1885 in on Over Norton, Oxon., in April 1911 the family home was at 2, Rock Farm Cottages, The Row, Baginton, Warwks. In March 1901 Christopher was employed as a shoe trade finisher and was residing in the family home at Brockey Lane, Barwell, Leics., together with his father, now a road man, his mother and siblings, Frederick, Emily and Thomas. In April 1911 Christopher was employed as a shoe trade finisher and was residing in the family home at 33, Shilton Road, Barwell, Leics., together with his father, now a farm labourer, his mother and siblings, Frederick, Emily and Thomas. In the October, November, December quarter of 1912, Christopher married Emily Geary in the Hinckley, Leicestershire marriage registration district.
