He was the son of John Bradbury an agricultural worker, born 1865 in Breedon on the Hill, Leics., and his wife Ennetta, born 1866 in Gelsmore, Leics. Samuel Edward was born in 1895 in Castle Donington, Leics., his siblings were Benjamin, born 1890 in Tonge, Leics., John M., born 1895 in Castle Donington, Leics., and Mary E., born 1899 in Church Gresley, Derbys., also residing with the family was his widowed maternal grandmother Ellen Whyman, born 1821 in Ashby, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at Worthington Road, Breedon on the Hill, Leics. In April 1911 Samuel was employed as a farm waggoner and was residing as a servant at Pottock House, Findern, Derbys. In the July, August, September quarter of 1917 Samuel married Madeleine Bonney in the Aston, Warwks., registration district. In the July, August, September quarter of 1920 Samuel’s widow Madeleine married Edward V. James in the Aston, Warwks., registration district, and they resided at 27, Broomhill Road, Erdington, Birmingham, Warwks.
