Henry Fretter was the son of William & Ellen Fretter who lived in Primethorpe and his birth was registered in 1885.

He was in the Notts and Derby (Sherwood Foresters) Regiment and held the rank of Private. His Regimental Number was 67005. He was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal.

He died 23 March 1917 and is buried in the St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, France. Grave Reference: O. VIII. M. 10.

He left a wife Unity Elizabeth (nee Brown) and two daughters Beatrice Annie (b1909) & Ellen Katherine (b1917)

Horace George Fretter was the son of George and Mary Ann Fretter of Broughton Astley, Leics. His brother Robert James also fell.
