He was the son of Joseph Bailey a General Labourer, born 1845 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire and his wife Mary A. a Charwoman, born 1851 in Witham on the Hill, Lincolnshire. Job was born in 1891 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, he had one sibling, a brother John, born 1896 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. In March 1901 the family home was at 5, 53, Court, The Green, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. In April 1901 Job was employed as a Coal Hewers Loader and was living with his brother at 5, Court, 32, North Street, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.

LOCAL CASUALTIES

Mr and Mrs Jos. Bailey, of the City of Dan, Whitwick, formerly of Ashby, have received official intimation that their son, Pte. Job Bailey (24), Notts and Derby Regiment, has been killed in action in France where he has been three years. He leaves a widow and two children.
