ContributeSource: Leicestershire War Memorials Project. Frank Hough was born in Crewe in 1889, the youngest son of Harriet and Joseph Hough a schoolmaster in Cheshire. The 1911 census records Frank as a Gardener at Gopsall Hall near Congerstone. Frank enlisted in Stafford under service number 19321 with the 4th Battalion Grenadier Guards and was killed in action on the 25th September 1916 at Lesboeufs on the Somme. He is remembered on Thiepval Memorial, Pier and Face 8D.
