ContributeSource: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of George Henry and Maria Hales of Edith Weston, Rutland. Before enlistment he was a gardener, joining the Grenadier Guards he embarked for France on 13th October 1915, and took part in the Battle of the Somme, at Cambrai, France. He fell in action during the third Battle of Ypres, and was buried at Boesinghe, Belgium sadly his grave like many others was lost.
