ContributeSource: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of Thomas and Lois Walker. After enlistment and training he first embarked for Ireland in May 1916, taking part in the quelling of the Irish Rebellion, he then went to France on the 10th May 1917, and took part in the fighting around Cambrai, Bapaume and Passchendaele. He died from the effect of a revolver wound in the abdomen, received during the action at Kemmel Hill.
