ContributeSource: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of Herbert and Mary Ann Saunders. Prior to enlistment he had been employed as a footman at Empingham. After his training he embarked for France on the 25th January 1918. He was posted as missing on the 21st March 1918, and it was later presumed he met his death on that day. Others sources show his place of residence as Empingham, Rutland, also his Christian name’s as Henry John.
