He was the son of Albert Cole a coachman, born 1853 in Wilton, Salisbury, Wilts., and his wife Eliza, born 1851 in Billesdon, Leics. Harry was born in 1882 in Chelsea, Middx., his siblings were, Fred, born 1885 in West Leake, Notts., and Ellen, born 1889 in Chelsea, Middx., in April 1891 the family home was at Main Street, West Leake, Notts. In March 1901 Harry was employed as a domestic stableman and was residing in the family home at The Bell, Gumley, Leics., together with his parents and sister Ellen. In April 1911 Harry was employed as a groom and was residing in the family home at Gumley, Leics., together with his parents and brother Fred.
