He was the son of Matthew Baggott a Boot Operator, born 1870 in Hinckley, Leicestershire and his wife Mary Ann, born 1870 in Stockingford, Warwickshire. Arthur was a Hosiery Seamless Hand and was born in 1889 in Hinckley, Leicestershire, his siblings were Emma, born 1892, George, born 1896, Florrie, born 1898, Lily, born 1900, Edith, born 1901, Ethel, born 1904, Matthew, born 1906 and Albert, born 1908, all his siblings were born in Hinckley, Leicestershire. In April 1911 the family home was at 2, Victoria Street, Hinckley, Leicestershire, later changed to 56, Derby Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire. Arthur later became the husband of Lily Baggott.

Four Territorials in camp, one of them is a soldier called Arthur Baggott (second from left) Many thanks to David Norman. Arthur Baggott was born and lived in Hinckley and enlisted on the 18/12/1915 as Pte 27975. He was transferred to the 11th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment and then transferred to the 15th Durham Light Infantry and was promoted in the field to be a Sargent. He was Killed in action on the 22/10/1917
