He was the son of John Beeby a Coal Miner, born 1846 in Stockinford, Warwks., and his wife Harriett, born 1851 in Nuneaton, Warwks. Herbert was born in 1889 in Nuneaton, Warwks., his siblings were James, born 1870, Thomas, born 1872, Charles W., born 1874, the latter three siblings were all born in Chilvers Coton, Warwks., Frances M., born 1876, Frederick, born 1879, Ada, born 1881, Alice, born 1883, Esther, born 1886 and Agnes, born 1887, the latter six siblings were all born in Nuneaton, Warwks., in April 1891 the family home was at 109 & 111, One House, Arbury Road, Nuneaton, Warwks., in the Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Mary. In March 1901 Herbert was residing as an inmate in the Industrial School, Gem Street, Birmingham, Warwks. In April 1911 Herbert was employed as an Underground Miner had been married for one year to Edith May, born 1892 in Hinckley, Leics., together they had a son Gordon, born 1911 in Hinckley, Leics., the family home was at 2, Gladstone Terrace, Hinckley, Leics.
