He was the son of William Blower a hosiery knitter, born 1860 in Hinckley, Leics., and his wife Ellen, born 1861 in Hinckley, Leics. Arthur was born in 1889 in Hinckley, Leics., his siblings were William, born 1880, Lilla, born 1881, George, born 1882, Rose, born 1885, Charles, born 1887, Ellen, born 1893 and Walter Sydney, born 1897, all his siblings were born in Hinckley, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at 35, Manor Street, Hinckley, Leics., in the Ecclesiastical Parish of Holy, Trinity. In April 1911 Arthur was employed as a hosiery worker and was residing in the family home at 35, Manor Street, Hinckley, Leics., together with his parents and siblings, Lilla, Ellen and Walter, also residing with the family was his nephew, William Blower, born 1902 in Hinckley, Leics. His younger brother Walter Sydney also fell in action.
