He was the son of Mr A. Gilbert. He died of his wound in the 41st Casualty Clearing Station. The War Diary for today records. IN THE FIELD. En bussed back to SCOTTISH WOOD. Transport moved by road. On arrival A Company were detached. 2nd Lt. N. S. HOGGARTH proceeded to ENGLAND on leave. Seven other ranks were reported to have died of wounds received between the 1st and 8th and 2nd Lt. T. S. DAVY reported wounded in action on the 4th and eleven other ranks reported killed between the 5th and 7th instant.
