He was the husband of Ruth D. Pritchard. Other sources show his place of residence as 8, Ten Foot Factory Road, Hinckley, Leics. The War Diary entry for the 13th October 1917 records. DICKEBUSCH. “B” and “C” Companies worked as usual. “D” Company took over work of “A” Company, who proceeded to rest camp, EECKE (Sheet 27. Q.25.a.6.8.). 3 men proceeded on 10 days leave. 4 men to the BASE to await Medical Board. 1 Sergeant and 4 men were killed yesterday by shell fire on the work, while 16 men were wounded. All were “B” Company. 2 men were sent to hospital sick.
