He was the son of Elizabeth, and the late Elijah Timmins of 3, Grange Road, Ibstock, Leics., and the husband of Mrs Roe (formerly Timmins) of 65, Chapel Street, Ibstock, Leics. His elder brother William Henry also died. The War Diary for today records. HEUDICOURT. 3.00am. Battalion attacked YELLOW LINE successfully 50 prisoners and 6 machine guns taken. Touch on south obtained with LONDON REGT. Touch with north, WILTSHIRE REGT. established following night. Casualties 2nd Lt. HAWKES died of wounds, 2nd Lt. BEESLEY, 2nd Lt. West wounded in action, other ranks killed, wounded or missing 50.
