He was the son of Henry Langley, a plasterer, born 1860 in Chelmsford, Essex and his wife Fanny Hook Langley (nee Warren, married on the 17th September 1877 in St. Margaret’s Church, Leicester), a shoe trade machinist, born 25th April 1859 in Desford, Leicestershire. Frederick was born on the 22nd April 1892 in Leicester and was baptised on the 23rd July 1894 in St. Margaret’s Church, Leicester, his siblings were Ellen Maud, a hosiery trade mender, born in the 3rd quarter of 1884, Harold, a shoe trade riveter, born in the 3rd quarter of 1887, Edward Beaumont W., born 2nd February 1889 and Alice Annie, born on the 26th June 1898, all his siblings were born in Leicester, also residing with the family were Frederick’s paternal grandparents, Henry Langley, a wool trade sorter, born 1830 in Kidderminster, Worcestershire and his wife Elizabeth Langley, born 1829 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, in March 1901 the family home was at 45, Napier Street, Leicester. In April 1911 Frederick was employed as a concrete works finisher and was residing in the family home at Cosby, Leicestershire together with his father, a plasterer, his mother and siblings, Harry, a general labourer and Dolly (Alice), a schoolgirl, also residing with the family was Frederick’s cousin, Edwin Bellamy, born 1907 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Frederick also had the following older siblings, Elizabeth, born in the 3rd quarter of 1879 and Frederick John, born in the 2nd quarter of 1881, both siblings were born in Leicester, Frederick died aged 1 in the 1st quarter of 1883 in Leicester. In the 3rd quarter of 1914 in the Blaby, Leicestershire district Frederick married Minnie Agatha Webb, Minnie was born on the 4th July 1890 in Croft, Leicestershire. They had two children, Maurice H., born in the 2nd quarter of 1916 and Helen M., born in the 1st quarter of 1918, both children were born in the Blaby, Leicestershire district.
In 1939 Frederick’s widow was residing in the family home at 32, Woodbank, Whetstone, Leicestershire. In 1939 Frederick’s widowed mother, an old age pensioner was residing at 8, Rutland Avenue, Leicester, this being the family home of Frederick’s brother Edward, a Royal Navy Pensioner and bank porter and his wife Beatrice, a hosiery trade winder, born 10th June 1887, also residing with the family was Frederick’s maternal Uncle, William Warren, an old age pensioner, born 9th March 1866.
Frederick died in Devonport.
