He was the son of George Barson a Joiner, born 1845 in Loughborough, Leicestershire and his wife May, born 1851 in Calne, Wiltshire. George was born in 1880 in Quorn, Leicestershire, his siblings were Emery, born 1876 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, Arthur, born 1878 in Quorn, Leicestershire, Maggie, born 1882, Jennie, born 1885 and Lily, born 1893 the latter three siblings were all born in Loughborough, Leicestershire. In April 1891 the family home was at 10, Cambridge Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire, this being situated within the Ecclesiastical Parish of All Saints. In April 1911 George was employed as a Railway Goods Porter and had been married for six years to Rebecca a Hosiery Worker, born 1880 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, their children were Albert, born 1905 and George Stanley, born 1908, both children were born in Loughborough, Leicestershire, the family home was at 42, Russell Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire.
