He was the son of Charles Henry Evans, a relieving officer, born 1856 in Lutterworth, Leics., and his wife Annie Mary Evans (nee Cooke, married in the 3rd quarter of 1887 in the Lutterworth, Leics. district), born 1862 in Broughton Astley, Leics. Harry was born in the 2nd quarter of 1890 in Lutterworth, Leics., he had one sibling, a sister Margaret, born 1889 in Lutterworth, Leics., in April 1891 the family home was at Coventry Road, Lutterworth, Leics. In March 1901 Harry was residing in the family home at George Street, Lutterworth, Leics., together with his father, a relieving officer, his mother and siblings, Margaret, Alice, born 1892, Jane, born 1895 and Catherine L., born 1897, all his siblings were born in Lutterworth, Leics. In April 1911 Harry was employed as an assistant elementary school teacher, and was residing as a boarder at 5, Milner Street, Newark upon Trent, Notts.
