His death was reported in the Market Harborough Advertiser of 15th May 1942:
'Harborough Grammar School boy Killed'

'Felix James, a former pupil of Harborough Grammar School and only son of Mr and Mrs C James of Leicester Lane, Great Bowden, has been killed whilst serving with the RAF. He was 19 years of age and joined the Air Force after leaving school.
