He was the son of Michael and Mary Jane Dugan. The War Diary records that at 10.00pm on the 19th August the Battalion had relieved the 1st Battalion of the Wiltshire Regiment in the line west of Wieltje, todays entry records that the following:- Russian Decorations are confirmed, Cross of the Order of St. George 4th Class to 5000 Company Sergeant Major W. Richardson, Medal of St. George 3rd Class to 3579 Private G. A. Scurr, Medal of St. George 4th Class 9612 Lance Corporal E. Neale.
