He was the son of Reuben and Rachel Kirk. The true family name is Dennies. The War Diary for today records. Composite Battalion from the Brigade was formed under Major J. C. BURDETT and proceeded up to TALUS BOISE-MARICOURT to relieve a Battalion of 106th Brigade. Whilst waiting for relief to commence orders came through to proceed to and hold BRAY-MEAULTE ROAD.
