He was the son of William Judd, a concrete labourer, born 1857 in Littlethorpe, Leicestershire and his wife Sarah Ann Judd (nee Smith, married in the 1st quarter of 1884 in the Blaby, Leicestershire district), born 1861 in Narborough. Wilfrid Harry was born in the 4th quarter of 1888 in Narborough, he had one sibling, Edith Annie, a schoolgirl, born on the 28th December 1885 in Narborough, in April 1891 the family home was in Littlethorpe Street, Narborough. In March 1901 Wilfrid was residing in the family home at Main Street, Narborough, together with his father, a green grocer and his mother. In 1911 Wilfrid was employed as a fruiterer and was residing in the family home at Main Road, Narborough, together with his father, a fruiterer, his mother and sister, Edith. In the 4th quarter of 1914 in the Blaby, Leicestershire district, Wilfrid married Maud Bailey, Maud was born on the 17th February 1890 in Wigston, Leicestershire. In 1939 Wilfrid’s widow was residing in the family home at 13, Pullman Road, Wigston, together with their son Ronald W., a hosiery warehouse worker, born 11th May 1917, also residing with the family was Maud’s widowed father, Thomas Bailey, a retired chemistry works labourer, born 17th February 1861 in Wigston.
Wilfred was awarded the British War and Victory medals.
