ContributeSource: Leicestershire War Memorials Project. Bombadier E.E. Harrison RA was killed in action in Italy in 1943/4 He lived on Glen Road, Oadby, in a house called Portmore (before numbering).
My father was able to visit his grave and as far as I know my Mother sent a photograph to his widow after the war ended.
My father and Ron (as he liked to be called), were both ARP wardens at Post No. 8 on Glen Road before war actually started.
