He was the son of William Beaver an Agricultural Labourer, born 1851 in Oakham, Rutland and his wife Jane, born 1846 in Thorney, Cambridgeshire. George was born in 1889 in Barleythorpe, Rutland, his siblings were Frank, born 1878 in Oakham, Rutland, Albert, born 1881 in Oakham, Rutland, Mary E., born 1885 and Annie, born 1887, the latter two siblings were born in Barleythorpe, Rutland, in April 1891 the family home was at Cold Overton Road, Oakham Deanshold with Barleythorpe, Rutland. In March 1901 George was residing in the family home at Barleythorpe, Rutland together with his parents and siblings, Frank and Annie. In April 1911 George was employed as a Farm Labourer and was residing in the family home at Deans Street, Oakham, Rutland together with his parents and siblings, Frank and Annie. He was a platelayer on the Midland Railway prior to enlisting. He first enlisted with the Leicestershire Regiment, and was subsequently transferred to the Machine Gun Corps. He embarked for France in July 1916. He died of his wounds on the 19th Ambulance Train. His mother only two days previously, had received a cheerful letter from him.
