ContributeSource: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of the late William Lattimore, and the husband of Sarah Jane Lattimore, he left two children. He re enlisted in his former regiment and embarked for France on the 4th July 1915 and was badly wounded at Vencrest during September 1915, being was shot through the chest, back and hip and had lain for eleven hours before assistance could be rendered to him. On being taken to No.11 General Hospital, Boulogne he survived for seven weeks before succumbling to his wounds, he was visited by his wife during his hospitalisation and had been conscious during the visit. He served throughout the South African Campaign with the Royal Scots, and had been on the National Reserve. Other sources show his place of residence as 17, Dean Street, Oakham, Rutland.
