ContributeSource: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of Mr and Mrs G. William Neal. He enlisted at the outbreak of war and embarked for France in December 1914. He was twice wounded in the head and came to England, each time returning, he was killed by a sniper at Wytschaete, Belgium. His commanding officer writes:- “He was always cheerful and willing, and liked by all. He will be missed very much by his platoon.”
