ContributeSource: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Squires. After enlistment and training he embarked for France in June 1916. He was wounded on two occasions the first time in the left arm, and on the second occasion in the leg, when bringing in his wounded Sergeant whilst under heavy fire. He returned to France on the 28th August 1918, being killed by a piece of shell near Cambrai, France.
