He was the son of the late Mrs M. Warrington. Before enlistment into the Leicestershire Regiment he had been a gardener. He embarked for France in July 1915, and took part in the Battle of Loos and the Somme. He died of wounds and gas poisoning near Chocques, France. The War Diary for today records. RED MILL. Accidental gassing of C Coy by ROYAL ENGINEERS, cylinders of gas fell in our line. Casualties 3 officers and 91 other ranks of whom 22 died.
