He was the son of George Brewin a domestic gardener, born 1854 in Rothley, Leics., and his wife Mary H., born 1864 in Yorks. Walter was born in 1891 in Quorn, Leics. In April 1911 Walter was employed as a grocer’s assistant and was residing in the family home at Barrow Road, Quorn, Leics., together with his parents and siblings, George, born 1886 and Fred, born 1888, both his siblings were born in Quorn, Leics.
