This Battalion will take over the trenches. The trenches were heavily shelled during the afternoon, forty 5.9 and twenty 4.2 shells and many smaller shells fell near the top of SHELL STREET, a little damage being done. 2nd Lt’s. HIND and THORNTON joined the Battalion and posted to D and B Companies.
