Eric was a former pupil of Loughborough School, and was the son of Arthur Forman Todd and Sarah Elizebeth Todd, of Loughborough, Leicestershire. He was the fiance of Janet Swann. He joined the Leicestershire Regiment, and was attached to the Northern Rhodesian Regiment. An explosion caused him to lose his leg, and he developed gangrene. He died on the 25th December 1942, aged 26 years.
