The War Diary for today records that the Battalion were in the front line at Hill 70. Bosche very active with artillery immediately on our right just after midnight 11th/12th. Repeated about 7.00am in the same place. At 5.35pm Brigade Operational Order received advising that we would be relieved night of the 13th/14th by 1st West Yorkshire Regiment, after relief to proceed to relief of 1st King’s Shropshire Light Infantry on left. At 6.00pm Operational Order from 6th West Yorkshire Regiment re relief. At 9.00pm Wire from Brigade to say we would proceed to Les Brebis after relief by 1st West Yorkshire Regiment. Casualties, other ranks nil return. From the monthly return of casualties it is shown that 2 men were killed on the 11th September.
