He was the son of James Weston a shoe trade clicker, born 1848 in Northampton and his wife Ellen, born 1858 in Aston Cross, Glos. Arthur Graham, was born in 1891 in Leicester, his siblings were, Harry S., a shoe trade clicker, born 1882 and Florence Beatrice, a Griswold knitter, born 1886, the latter two siblings were both born in Leicester, Nellie Frances, born 1895 in Sileby, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at Back lane, Sileby, Leics. In April 1911 Arthur was employed as a boot and shoe trade worker and was residing in the family home at Sileby, Leics., together with his widowed father and siblings, Florence a hosiery worker and Nellie, a hosiery worker. Arthur married Clara Porter in the fourth quarter of 1916 in the Barrow upon Soar Registration District, Leics. On Friday April 27th 1917 The Melton Mowbray Times & Vale of Belvoir Gazette published the following article under the heading. “SILEBY” – ROLL OF HONOUR.- Much anxiety is felt at Sileby owing to a message that came through from a Sileby lad at the front to the effect that a great loss of Sileby lads had taken place at the great Vimy Ridge engagement. Official news was received yesterday by the parents of Mr Arthur Weston of Cemetery Road, Sileby, that he had been killed. He belonged to the Gordon Highlanders, and was recently married. Previous to joining the colours he was making a special study for preaching. He had a very promising career ahead of him.
