He was the grandson of George Bromley a grazier and carter, born 1847 in Smeeton, Leics., and his wife Martha a grocer, born 1849 in Kibworth, Leics. Arthur Edward was born in 1890 in Market Harborough, Leics., in April 1891 he was residing at Weir Lane, Stonton Wyville, Leics., being the home of his grandparents, and his uncles and aunts, John, born 1876, Charles Edwin, born 1877, Mary, born 1880, Benjamin, born 1882, James, born 1884, Annie, born 1884, Margaret, born 1889 and Beatrice Hilda, born 1891, all his uncles and aunts were born in Kibworth, Leics. In March 1901 Arthur was residing in the family home at New Road, Kibworth Beauchamp, Leics., being the home of his widowed grandfather and his uncles and aunts, George, born 1873 in Kibworth, Leics., Charles, Evelyn, born 1884 in Kibworth, Leics., Margaret and Beatrice. In April 1911 Arthur was employed as a general carter and was residing at Weir Road, Kibworth Beauchamp, Leics., being the home of his paternal uncle, George Bromley and his wife Georgina, born 1872 in Nassington, Northants and their children, George, born 1905 and Beatrice, born 1907, both children were born in Leicester.
