FAMILY NOTES: Harry Green remains an enigma, no trace of his birth under the name of Harry Dormer can be traced, but he was quite clearly born before his mother Harriett’s marriage to Henry Green on the 22nd May 1893. Harry first appears in the 1901 census together with his mother, stepfather and half-blood siblings, he again appears in the 1911 census together with his family.
Harry’s identity now becomes complex, because in the October quarter of 1912 he married Beatrice Eleanor Moore, in the Blaby Leicestershire district, using the assumed name of Archibald Robinson. Beatrice was born on the 22nd December 1886 in Aylestone, Leicester, the daughter of John Moore, 1857 and Sarah Atkins, 1857.
Beatrice and Harry had a daughter, Eileen Madge Robinson, born on the 12th October 1914 in South Wigston, Eileen was also registered at birth under the surname of Green. The family at this time resided at Sawley House, Leopold Street, South Wigston.
When the June 1921 census took place Beatrice and her daughter Eileen were recorded with the surname of Green.
MILITARY NOTE: The true family name is Green, Harry.
