He was the son of Henry Cooper, a pharmaceutical chemist, born 1843 in Leicester and his wife Helena Cooper (nee Edwards), an aerated water manufacturer’s manager, born 1850 in Kensington, Middx., in April 1881 they were residing in the family home at 224, Humberstone Road, Leicester, together with their son Percival Henry, born 1880 in Leicester. Frederick Ernest, a hosiery clerk, was born in 1884 in Leicester, in March 1901 he was residing at 26b, Clipstone Street, Leicester, together with his mother Helena and brother, Percival, an electrical mechanic. In April 1911 Frederick was employed as a hosiery counterman and was residing in the family home at 6, Sawley Street, Leicester, together with his wife Emily Alice Mary Cooper (nee Burdett), a safety razor factory forewoman, born 1889 in Wigston, Leics.
