He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth Richardson. The War Diary entry for the 13th and 14th May 1917 records. The weather being very sunny and hot full use was made of a swimming bath at HQ. There were a great many Batteries in the village and during the enemy’s counter battery work we sustained several casualties. Three parties of one N.C.O. and 12 men were found every night for ration carrying to the Battn in the line. Other parties found each night were, one platoon for wiring in the BOIS DE RIAUMONT, one Coy for digging a cable trench and other smaller parties. Lt CREED M.C. was wounded on the 14th May.
