He was the son of James and Maria Woodward of Thurlaston, Leics., and the husband of Florence Hannah Woodward. A marble memorial plaque once hung in the Thurlaston Baptist Chapel, and was saved from possible loss due to the kindness of the Evangelical Church Minister who allowed for its safe removal, and it now resides in the Hinckley Museum, Leics.
