He was the son of Henry and Ada Harriett Sparrow, a dressmaker, born 1873 in Fiskerton, Lincs. Bramford was a farm boy, and was born in 1895 in Fiskerton, Lincs., he had one sibling, a sister Louisa, born 1908 in Wymeswold, Leics., in April 1911 the family home was at Far Street, Wymeswold, Leics. His parents later resided at 23, Gledhow Gardens, South Kensington, London. On Wednesday February 7th 1917 The Leicester Mercury published the following article under the heading. “LOCAL CASUALTIES” Pte. Bramford Sparrow, of the Grenadier Guards, died on January 28 from wounds received the previous day. Deceased was the son of Mrs Sparrow, of High Street, Loughborough. He joined the Grenadier Guards over four years ago, and went to the front in August, 1914. He was twice wounded. On Friday February 16th 1917 The Leicester Mercury published the following article under the heading. “THE ROLL OF HONOUR” - (A photograph accompanied the article). Pte. B. Sparrow, Grenadier Guards, died of wounds Jan. 28th. His mother lives in High Street, Loughborough.
