He was the son of George W. Camm a general labourer, born 1857 in Belton, Rutland and his wife Ellen, born 1857 in Tottenham Court Road, Middx. Philip Otley Camm was born in 1896 in Belton, Rutland, his siblings were, George H., born 1882, Walter S., born 1890, William, born 1893, Arthur, born 1895 and Frank, born 1901, all his siblings were born in Belton, Rutland, in March 1901 the family home was at Belton, Rutland. In April 1911 Philip was employed as a domestic hall boy and was residing as a servant at The Vicarage, Sibbertoft, Northants. His parents resided at Kingstone Cottage, Belton, Rutland. Prior to enlistment he was in gentleman’s service. He embarked for France on the 23rd January 1915 and took part in the Battle of Neuve Chapelle on the 10th March 1915. He died in No.11 General Hospital, Boulogne from a gun shot wound to the head.
