The 1911 census records, Henry Flude, married 19 years and head of the family, a Rubber Hand Porter, born 1867 in Desborough, Northants., and his wife Emma, born 1866 in Stoke Albany, Northants. The children were Harry Stock, stepson and General Carter, born 1889, Nellie, a Corset Hand Trimmer, born 1893, Earnie, a Glue Hand, born 1894, Ethel, a Packer in a Coffee Mill, born 1896, Arthur, a Baker, born 1897, George, a Schoolboy, born 1900, Eadie, a Schoolgirl, born 1901, Charlie, a Schoolboy, born 1902, Alice, a Schoolgirl, born 1904, Louisa, a Schoolgirl, born 1905 and Agnius, daughter, born 1910, all the children were born in Market Harborough, Leics. The family were residing at 22, East Street, Great Bowden, Leics. The War Diary for today records. HILL 37. Shelling not quite so heavy as previous days. Periods of comparative quiet. Back areas bombarded with high explosive and gas shells at night. 2nd Lt. L. ROWBATHAN died of wounds, 2nd Lt. S. W. G. TALLIS wounded.
