Charles Henry Maycock, grocer, of Abbey St., MH, had been a Sgt in the St John Ambulance Brigade. He served as QMS of 102nd Field Ambulance in France being awarded the MM. He survived to return to his business, the SJAB and also to became an officer of the NFS.
He earned 6 bars to his SJAB Servive medal and clocked up 40 years service in the Fire Brigade.
