ContributeSource: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of Florence Bosworth (formerly Webster), and the late George Webster. The 1911 census records for Nethsdale Avenue, Market Harborough, Leicestershire. George Webster, head of the family and married for 13 years, a General Manager, born 1865 in Whitby, Yorkshire and his wife Florence, born 1877 in Goole, Yorks., also Sidney, son, an Engineers Apprentice, born 1896, Sybil, daughter, a Schoolgirl, born 1899, Phyllis, daughter, a Schoolgirl, born 1901, Harold, son, a Schoolboy, born 1903, the latter four children were all born in York, Yorkshire, Cynthia, daughter, a Schoolgirl, born 1905 and Amy, daughter, born 1911, the latter two were both born in Market Harborough, Leics. The birth registration for the district of York for the quarter January, February and March 1896 records his birth names as Sydney Summers. This creates a conflict as his medal index card records him as Charles Sydney. His Medal Index Card shows that he was enlisted on the 14th October 1914 and discharged on the 14th September 1917, the cause of discharge is shown as Para 2 (a) of A.O. 11 of 1917.
