He was the son of Mary Weston of 108, Logan Street, Market Harborough, Leics., and the late Henry Frederick Weston. The 1911 census records for 23, Langton Road, Great Bowden, Market Harborough, Leicestershire. Mary Weston, head of the family and a widow, a Laundress, born 1849 in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, also Emily Winifred, daughter, single and a Hosiery Machinist, born 1882, John Charles, son, single and a Railway Platform Guard, born 1885 and Ellen Amelia, daughter, single and Hosiery Machinist, born 1887, all three children were born in Great Bowden, Leicestershire. His enlistment documents record that he gave his trade or calling as Carpenter and his next of kin as his mother, Mrs Mary Weston of 108, Logan Street, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, England. He stated that he was unmarried. Information taken from his medical examination shows that he was 5 foot 8 inches in height and weighed 164 pounds, he had a chest measurement of 35 to 37 ½ inches. His complexion was described as dark with brown eyes and dark hair. He gave his religion as Church of England. His record of service gives the following information. 31st May 1915 embarked at Adelaide, Australia aboard HMAT “Geelong.” 4th September 1915 embarked from Alexandria, Egypt aboard HT. “Ivernia” to join the M.E.F in Gallipoli. 21st October 1915 promoted to Lance Corporal, Gallipoli Peninsula. 29th November 1915 killed in action, he was buried at New Zealand Point Cemetery, Grave 7, Row 9 the service was conducted by Canon H. S. Reid. A war pension was awarded to his mother Mary Weston of £2.00 per fortnight to commence on the 30th November 1915. A parcel was forwarded to his mother containing the following personal effects, disc, purse, pair of scissors, photos, wallet and private papers.
