He was the son of Alfred Brown a boot mender, born 1852 in Sapcote, Leics., and his wife Mary, born 1854 in Sapcote, Leics. Peter Philip was born in 1891 in Sapcote, Leics., his siblings were, Leonard, born 1876, George Arthur, born 1879, Sarah S., born 1881, Joseph, born 1884, John James G., born 1886, Thomas Ephraim, born 1888, Susan Beatrice, born 1893 and Willie Alfred, born 1895, all his siblings were born in Sapcote, Leics., in March 1901 the family home was at Church Street, Sapcote, Leics. In April 1911 Peter was employed as a carter and labourer and was residing in the family home at Church Street, Sapcote, Leics., together with his parents and siblings, Sarah, Joseph, John, Thomas, Susan and Willie. Peter died whilst a Prisoner of War. His elder brother Thomas Ephraim died of wounds received in action.
